CREATE AN AMAZING DIY REFRIGERATOR ART GALLERY ON NON-MAGNETIC STAINLESS STEEL

Ever wonder why magnets don’t stick to stainless steel? Or how to hang things on a stainless steel refrigerator without using magnets? While stainless steel appliances have many perks, like giving your kitchen an instant boost with its sleek design, the front door may be non-magnetic due to a higher level of nickel content. Don’t let that stop you from proudly displaying your favorite photos, kids’ drawings and notes! Our DIY Refrigerator Art Gallery will help keep your memories and memos in full view. So, how do you hang things on a non-magnetic fridge?

Option 1: Hanging Using Hooks

You Will Need:

  • 4 Command™ hooks (metallic)
  • 2 café rods (measured to width of fridge)
  • 2 packs of 1- ¼ in. clip rings
  • Tape measure
  • Dry erase marker

Instructions:

  1. Use the tape measure to mark even points across and down the side of your refrigerator for the four Command™ hooks.
  2. Mark the four spots as you go with the dry erase marker.
  3. Remove backing and stick the metallic Command™ hooks on your dry erase marks.
  4. Slide the clip rings onto the café rods.
  5. Set café rods onto the Command™ hooks.

Option 2: Hanging Using Frames

You Will Need:

  • Lightweight frames in a variety of sizes and shapes
  • Cork board
  • Craft paint
  • Foam paint brush
  • Mounting putty
  • Scissors
  • Craft glue

Instructions:

  1. Remove the backs of your frames and paint them your preferred colors. Allow to dry.
  2. Cut cork board to fit the insides of your frames.
  3. Glue the cork board inside where the picture would go.
  4. Add mounting putty to the back of the frame on all corners and in the middle.
  5. Affix frames to the front of your refrigerator.
  6. Use your push pins to add your pictures, invites and children’s artwork.
